Hendersonville, Tennessee is centered around its famous Old Hickory Lake. So much so, it’s known as “the city by the lake.” One of Hendersonville’s most famous residents were Johnny and June Carter Cash, who made their home on the banks of Old Hickory Lake for more than 35 years. If you’re in the mood to immerse yourself in the arts, stop by Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center. Architecture history lovers will appreciate the historic 1860 home the Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center is housed in. The Center is excited to debut the exhibit “A Bountiful Trinity: The Works of Romero Britto” in April 2021. Romero Britto was born in Recife, Brazil and is internationally renowned for his hopeful, vibrant works of art. This anticipated exhibit will take the visitors through Britto’s career, focusing on his love of art history, portraits and nature.

Unique Brewing
All that art viewing might leave you a little parched, and you’re in luck for the city has a brewery with a unique origin. Nestled in Middle Tennessee, Hendersonville is home to Half Batch Brewery. The owner began home brew batching beer in his college apartment in 1995. Fast forward more than 20 years and Half Batch Brewing is thriving. The establishment has some unique offerings like Pepper Sprout Smoked Porter with Jalapenos and Fuzzy Foot Peach Cream Ale.

Busy Bees
Did you know Tennessee has a yearly Honey Festival? And it’s in Hendersonville! Visitors to the Honey Festival can expect lively music, yummy food trucks, and informative bee-keeping classes that serve to educate the public on the value of bees and their fellow pollinators in Tennessee. More than 10,000 visitors attend the festival each year and the unique experience has become a successful public awareness event to bring attention to the honey-bee crisis. And of course, there is plenty of honey tasting harvested from the region.
